For testing that takes place during the school day, teachers will communicate specific location and scheduling details, including makeup/completion sessions. See the school newsletter and the school events calendar for dates and other information.

PSAT

High-school 9th-, 10th-, and 11th-grade students take the PSAT annually during the school day. College testing day is listed on the school calendar and usually takes place in late October. Please contact our college counselors with specific questions on this test.

SAT

Starting in 2018-2019, Veritas has selected the SAT from the ADE’s Menu of Assessments for high school. 11th-grade students will take the SAT annually during the school day. SAT School Test Day is listed on the school calendar and usually takes place in late March.

AzMERIT

Middle-school grades 6 through 8 take the AzMERIT tests for ELA (reading as well as writing) and math. 8th-grade students in algebra classes take the high-school EOC exam for Algebra I. VPA’s AzMERIT testingĀ is listed on the school calendar and usually takes place during the month of April. View more information from the ADE here. Score reports are usually published in June, depending on the timing and schedule of the ADE.

AIMS Science

Students in 8th and 9th grades take the AIMS Science test, which covers concepts addressed in earth science and biology classes. Students transferring to Veritas in 10th grade may need to take this test, if they have not previously taken it. NAEP

The state administers the NAEP as needed to designated students of their own selection. Students who are asked to participate will be notified in advance, and the state will provide the necessary technology and oversight to administer this test. AZELLA

This test is administered on an as-needed basis for English language learners. View more information from the ADE here on this and other state assessments.

MAP Growth

Once a year, middle-school students take the MAP Growth test for reading and math skills. Please view information on Veritas MAP testing here.

American Mathematics Competition (AMC)

High-school math students may voluntarily participate in this competitive math exam, and the school recognizes publicly those who excel. Math teachers will communicate the schedule each year to their students, and those who are interested may join in. View info on this competition here.

National Latin/Greek/Spanish Exam

Students in all grades taking these language courses will participate in the relevant exam for their level of study. Those who perform well compared nationally with their peers will receive recognition at the annual school awards ceremony in May. Please view full information on classics exams here.
